Daily Journal

  • 5/11 - 8 am-4:30 pm - half-hour lunch - 7.5 hrs

    • On my first day, I was given training courses to familiarize myself with the applications used by the Marcom Office. The first one I worked my way through was for Asana. I learned about how the site is used for product management and the different ways teams can use it to work through projects and tasks. When I worked through all of the topics, I registered for a webinar to finish my training on Wednesday. I then began reviewing articles from some of the other sites they use regularly.

  • 5/12 - 8 am-4:30 pm - half-hour lunch - 7.5 hrs

    • I continued to work through training articles for MediaGraph and familiarized myself with the site's layout. I looked at exposure and how they use that site. I also worked on getting my Asana Foundations certification, which I finished at the end of the day. This included a few additional training courses in the workings of Asana for project managers and team members.

  • 5/13 - 8 am-4:30 pm - half-hour lunch - 7.5 hrs

    • At 9, I had a meeting with my internship supervisor, Nikki Knox, to get me acquainted with the way they use Asana and Media Graph within the Marcom office. Brian Henery, who is a Multimedia Producer, joined us and gave me more guidance on the usage of Media Graph and the things I will be doing on that site throughout my internship. We worked through image tagging and how to add photos to collections. Nikki also gave me some more tasks to do, like adding dates and events to the editorial calendar, image tagging, moving images in and out of the public gallery, reviewing admission pages, and finding content for the school's social media pages. After our meeting, I listened to my Asana webinar and then worked on tagging some images and adding stuff to the editorial calendar for the rest of the day.
